Receba a nossa newsletter com as histórias de Lisboa 🙂
Local elections are taking place later this year, and foreign residents from EU countries but also from post-Brexit Britain and many other countries have a right to vote and even to stand as a candidate.
At the Mensagem event, we will talk practicalities:
How to register to vote, how to vote, what the voting system is and how it works, how and where to find out about the candidates and what they stand for.
We will talk about what is at stake in the elections: what areas of the city life are governed by the mayor’s office, what areas depend on the citizens, what will be discussed in the campaign and why.
We will also address a few other issues that can be hard to understand if you aren’t a Lisbon long-timer:
Governance, the political dividing lines, transparency and information about. We’ll also be there to answer the questions you’ve always wanted to ask but never had the courage to.
So come and talk with us at A Brasileira, in Chiado, on the 21st of June, at 18:30. Seating is limited, so you will need to register here:
You can also follow the discussion live on Facebook, and also via Zoom – we will send you the link when you register here.
We hope to see you on 21 June!
