I’d be hard-pressed to think of a more photogenic restaurant than Polo 1921, not because it’s immaculately furnished or the food is artistically plated: on the contrary, this restaurant thrives on the old adage of “location, location, location”.
Nestled in the midst of an equestrian estate, with the clomping of horseshoes providing a rhythmic soundtrack and the giggles of children eagerly to pet their first pony, Polo 1921 is a slice of heaven carved into the already-idyllic town of Cascais. To top it all off, their Neapolitan pizzas do not disappoint, with anchovies adding a salty finish to an otherwise boilerplate Margherita and their white-based pesto pizza with arugula, artichokes, and a healthy dollop of burrata standing out as the highlight dishes.
It’s arguably the most beautiful place I’ve been for a sunset dinner, just make sure not to step in any horse dung on the walk over!
