The beauty of a great neo-tasca is that it looks no different from an ordinary hole-in-the-wall, in fact they oftentimes look worse! Tasca Baldracca is a cute little cave that hints at its committed fanbase through a long wall of polaroids that adorn its tiled walls.
It’s chalkboard menu is intentionally unpleasant to read, leaving you wonderfully helpless as you surrender your order to the friendly waitstaff. Next thing you know you’re eating one of the very best steak tartares in the whole city, spring peas that would scream the word “summer” if they had a mouth, and a juicy, mustardy, fried chicken ripped right out of my dreams.
Tasca Baldracca is an ordinary restaurant with an extraordinary menu. Go with a large group so you can sample the whole menu!
