I can pretty confidently say that O Velho Eurico is the most talked-about restaurant in Lisbon. No other classic eatery has been TikTokked and salivated over quite like this trendy tasca, and for good reason!
People gather at O Velho Eurico’s entrance from far and wide like clockwork, either with a reservation for the day, but more often than not with a reservation for the wrong day (if you don’t book well in advance you’ll only get offered the next available date). The rest of us usually line up for the waitlist, which generally works out in everyones favor so long as you are patient. What awaits inside is a youthful, high-energy tasca that blasts eccentric music, basically insisting the clientelle is “cool”.
Once that vetting process is over, you’re off to the races and can expect anything from piglet pastrys to a succulent orange-sauce squid. It rocks!
