Chef Olivier Da Costa’s restaurants have grown increasingly flashy with each new installment, garnering him a reputation as Lisbon’s premiere “event space” restaurateur.

This is certainly why his businesses often feel like they are adjoined to a Vegas casino, but anyone who has eaten in Vegas also knows that the food there is fire: the same can certainly be said here! No restaurant better encapsulates this branding quite like Acosta, a formidable seafood restaurant overlooking the Tagus river that serves up tender octopus, a perfectly prepared langoustine rice, saucy steak, and perhaps my favorite of all, the “Olivier Egg” — which swaps out the cod in a bacalhau a bras with shrimp.

For all its glitz and opulence, this is a striking modern restaurant with a phenomenal kitchen. Moreover, it’s the only great upscale eatery that’s right by the water!
