It’s easy to sit inside of Casa Nepalesa and believe that there’s a snow-storm raging outside. The cozy wooden decor would have you believe you’ve stumbled into Minnie’s Habadashery.
Chef Tanka Sapkota (whose Italian restaurants Forno D’oro and Come Prima have also snuck onto this list) takes it back home with this restaurant, revealing the aromatic complexities of his native cuisine, and while there’s certainly stiff competition in Lisbon when it comes to Nepalese food, few restaurants have an ambiance that get me this eager to devour the nation’s soothingly spicy flavors, like Casa Nepalesa.
