I love a transportative dining experience, and Brilhante is a hydraulic foundation away from literally throwing me into the Orient Express. There’s something endlessly charming about this tram-car style restaurant and its small but delicate menu.
Sure, I can talk up the gravlax all Lunch, but the star of the show is obviously their signature steak; a juicy cut of meat drizzled in a delectable house sauce. While Brilhante’s sister-restaurant, Sala De Corte, is Lisbon’s most famous steakhouse (and certainly where you want to go if you are a stickler for specific cuts of meat), Brilhante is the VIP backroom.
The staff is professional, the food is exceptional, and by placing the kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, every client has an unfiltered view into the culinary magic on display here.
