Discovering Come Prima was a real castle-on-the-hill moment; my childhood fantasy of a saucy, cheesy, cozy Italian restaurant with a giant menu of winning dishes come to life.
In some ways Come Prima reminds me more of a New York ristorante than something you’d find in Rome. The menu here covers everything from pizzas to truffle pastas and a veal milanese with a side of tomato spaghetti. It’s big, heavy cooking; the kind of place you hit up with five of your best friends for a Dinner of shameless gluttony.
My childhood self, a picky eater who exclusively dabbled in rich tomato-sauces, would have loved this place, and that’s exactly why Come Prima is the best family-friendly Italian restaurant in Lisbon.
