The perfect lunch spot does not exi… Or so I thought before I discovered Zaytouna, quite possibly the best bang-for-buck establishment in all of Lisbon.
Located inside of Arroios market, Zaytouna is a Middle Eastern supermarket hides an unforgettable kitchen in its adjoining room, dishing up great hummus, outstanding falafel, and perhaps most importantly, the very best chicken wrap I’ve had in the entire city.
High-quality shaormas are hard to come by in Lisbon, often serving the function of being cheap munchies food for a drunken Dinner out, but Zaytouna’s brilliant mix of fresh meat, pickled vegetables, french fries, and a lightly spicy house sauce make this the tastiest lunchtime snack in town.
